INFORMATION

Session Fees

I do not currently accept insurance, therefore clients are responsible for session fees, which are due at the time of the session. The fee for a 50-minute session is $150. Sliding scale fees are available, and start at $100 per 50-minute session.

Although I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide you with a detailed invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Some clients will receive a portion of counseling fees reimbursed, but many clients will not receive any reimbursement. Being reimbursed the full fee is extremely rare. Contact your insurance company for information about what you can expect.

I have a very limited number of pro bono spots available for low-income clients. Please contact me to inquire about availability and eligibility.

Confidentiality

Client information is protected under the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and by legal and ethical codes governing the practice of marriage and family therapy in the state of Texas.

Discussions between client and counselor, and even the fact that you are in counseling,

is confidential. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality: if you are a danger to yourself or someone else, if you reveal an incident of abuse or neglect to a child or elderly person, by court order, if you reveal an incident of misconduct by another mental health care professional. As an associate, I may also discuss cases with a supervisor for the purposes of guidance and accountability.
